Salt water runs in the family
My name is William Hernández, though everyone on this coast knows me as Pelospipe, or Pelos for short. I was born and raised here on the coast of Oaxaca, and the ocean has always been the family business: my uncles were fishermen, and my mother made hand crafted life jackets. Before I ever stood on a surfboard, the sea was already home.
I caught my first wave at fourteen, just a kid out with friends, never imagining it would become my life. Twenty-three years later, that feeling still hasn't worn off and I still push myself to get better every single day while getting to share the place I love.
As a guide, I learned from the very best. It's with great pride and respect that I can say I've worked with some of the best surfers in the world. But what makes me happiest is simpler than that: sharing the waves I grew up on, and watching you catch the wave of your trip.
