Advanced & pros only

The Heavy Point Break

One of the heaviest point breaks in the world, and Pelos can get you there. Think double-overhead faces, thick square barrels, and steep, committing drops. This is serious water: air-drops, heavy landings, and the barrel of your life all on offer. It rewards surfers who show up fit, confident, and well-trained. Strictly for advanced and professional surfers.

Barra de la Cruz

One of the most perfect, playful waves in the world. It barrels off from behind the rock, opens into a clean wall for turns through the middle, then throws fast tubes and air sections on the inside. It's a dream wave for confident intermediate to strong surfers, and no secret either, so it draws a crowd. Out there, it helps to have a padrino in the lineup who knows the local pecking order. Pelos is that connection.

The Playful Point

One of the most fun, forgiving waves in the area. Chest-high on most days and occasionally overhead, it's soft and playful, a relaxed session where you can work on your turns without worrying about getting pounded. It's still a proper point break, with long, beautiful rides and the occasional barrel. Bring your fish or a fun board and settle in for a full day in the water.

The Long Wall

Beautiful, medium-energy walls that stay soft but carry enough push for the occasional medium barrel and long, carving rides. It's one of the longest waves in the area, so come ready for burning legs. This is the perfect place to test your quiver and work on high-performance surfing, and it stays refreshingly uncrowded.

The Small-Swell Secret

When the swell drops and everyone else paddles in, the ocean isn't done. In Mexico there's always a wave if you know where to look. On small two-to-three-foot days, Pelos knows the river-mouth sandbars that keep firing, serving up fun, makeable barrels and perfect, mellow days of surfing.

The winter season · December to April

Smaller, warmer, and wide open.

From December through April, the coast mellows out, bringing warm water, empty lineups, and fun, chest- to head-high beach breaks. They're forgiving, playful waves, perfect for logging session after session and sharpening your surfing. As always, the magic is in knowing where to go, and that's exactly what Pelos brings.

Winter is also when Pelos offers surf lessons (December through April), the ideal window for surfers still building their foundation to find their feet. Planning a winter trip, or want to know more about lessons? Get in touch.

The swell decides. Pelos decides where you paddle out.

Tell him your dates and your level, and he'll read the conditions and put you on the wave that's working best that day.
